Spring is Almost Sprung!

The sun is here, the sun is here!!

I spent almost all the weekend in my garden, clearing the leaves, pruning the plants and weeding, oh ma gosh there was so much weeding to do!

As a reward and incentive The Big One and I placed a rather large order with Crocus for all sorts of floral delights including some seeds for; plum tomatoes, potatoes and some amazing rare strawberries - yup we're getting productive!

Here's some of what we ordered, have a look at what they're supposed to look like and wish me green fingered luck that I can make them all bloom!

A Perfect Anniversary Weekend

I had previously posted that we had booked a beautiful boutique B&B near the Lake District to celebrate our anniversary with a weekend of natural beauty, walking and general chillaxing.

I think it's fair to say that our weekend surpassed all our expectations. It was breathtakingly beautiful, the weather was incredible and the B&B was so fabulous. We loved every single minute.

We stayed in No 43, Arnside and I cannot recommend the place or location more. We were so well looked after, greeted with drinks and homemade lemon cake when we arrived, given fantastic walks for the area and the room was so lovely. We felt completely at home and settled right in.

So here are some of the photos from our 2 days walking.

The Big One and I have visited many different places but this was one we would absolutely re-visit.

We loved it!

Out with the Old and In the with the NEW!

I am finding all these images for Spring wardrobes so tantalisingly full of cheery, chirpy colour that frankly it is making me want to throw out all of my current wardrobe and invest in a new, technicolour one.

If I could trade my black, grey and plum winter wardrobe for aquas, fuschias and pale lemon yellows I would skip everywhere everyday.

BUT really what appeals is the trade of seasons which I am sooo beyond ready for. This cold, damp grey has lasted for what seems a lifetime and I am desperate for the sun to wake me up in the morning. I want to be back out in my garden looking after my new emerging bulbs and clearing all the brown, glum leaves left over from autumn and winter.

There's no point wearing a palette of bright colour if the scenery outside is still muted. Firstly I'd be bloody cold in a thin spring outfit and strappy flats - my chilly blue/corn beef legs would clash in an non aesthetically pleasing manner and my spring fling feeling would soon shrivel as the shivers took over.

So until the weather changes from glum to glee, my dull, but warm, winter wardrobe will be safely hanging on it's rail unchallenged...for now.

Spring in full bloom....

I have been working away inside all day today and just stepped out into the garden to rescue some fallen washing, when I remembered to look up, SEE my beautiful garden and breathe in the lovely Spring air.

I have to be honest though - neither me nor the J are responsible for such prettiness, it's a shared garden and luckily for us one of our neighbours loves toiling away out there all year meaning that come Spring we get to spend time in the gorgeous results of his dedication. Don't worry we thank him all the time!

Gardening is one of those things I like the idea of but never seem to actually do....
