Wish List

I worked out yesterday that I have not bought any new clothing for 4.5 months, not one little thang! That has got to be a record for me...it's not out of choice so it's not a immense achievement of self discipline more an unfortunate economic effect.

In an attempt to inspire/torture myself I have decided to compile and share my latest wish list. Who knows, the next big job may be just around the corner and a girl's gotta be ready just in case!

Obsessed: The Rachel Zoe Project

The Big One has had to jet off to Toronto for a very exciting looking new music shoot and so I have been left in full control of the remote - no admonishing looks, no tutting at my sometimes dubious choices, which is perfect as I have quickly developed a new dirty tv addiction.

The Rachel Zoe Project! So much fashion I literally drool through every episode! I appreciate I'm a little slow on the uptake but I don't think it was ever screened here in the UK - I've found it on Netflix, three seasons worth...amazings! So far I have devoured Season 1 and am fascinated with Taylor, rather in love with Brad and full of envy for Rachel Zoe's wardrobe!

I love that you get to see the whole process of styling the best dressed, the programme takes you entirely behind the scenes to see the designers and their new collections before they have walked. I have found it amazing how little the actresses themselves seem to be involved, you realise they are essentially clothes horses at red carpet events. It makes you wonder about how often the stars themselves get lauded for their sartorial choices when it appears they have little to nothing to do with what they strut down the carpet.

Season 2 is next and I cannot wait to see more more more!

Knitting TATS!

I myself do not have a tattoo and despite a few rather fleeting periods of considering it (always on my ankle), I have no immediate plans to get inked -  it's a rather difficult thing to justfy when you're job as an actor is to disappear as yourself and become someone else...who may or may not have tats.

However, I became intrigued by the idea of tattoos of non tattoo-esque things...aka knitting and look what I found!

 Pretty Wow-sers!

I think, if was in the market for a tat I would go for something that represents my love of knitting, I love that it's one of the most unexpected tattoos! Bet they bloody hurt though, especially that mitten with all it's stitches!

Just Watched

For the first time in months The Big One and I made it to the cinema, we went to see The Artist and I really enjoyed it. A lovely film with lots of classic hollywood references which I thoroughly appreciated, great costumes and set design, all in all a great film.

BUT, I am surprised that is is an Oscar Nominee for Best Picture. Is it because it's a novelty done well? Which it is, it's moving despite there being no spoken dialogue. It's a beautiful film but not one I want to see over and over again, the originals from this genre are pretty good if you ask me!

The story is not particularly thought provoking, the performances although great are not the best I've seen this year. That would be the three lead performances in Tyrannosaur for me.

However, it's a good cinema experience, go and enjoy! Then watch Bette Davis, Greta Garbo, Mae West and the other originals...

A Season of Tea Parties

So while I have been at home I have been hosting a couple of tea parties for my fellow out of work/resting actor chums.

I made a selection of carrot cake cupcakes with a cream cheese frosting and choc chip and mixed nut cookies.

They have been going down a treat! And it was a nice way to spend the day, baking for friends and then enjoying their company. I was given a fantastic book by a lovely friend for Christmas which I am really looking forward to delving into, the first Vintage tea party will of course have to wait until he's available to be the guest of honour.

It has recipes for every palate, decoration ideas, patterns for fascinators and aprons and even tips on how to style your hair and make up for your tea party extravaganza!

Where Have I Been? And Where Am I Going?

c/o Eddy

Hello! Sorry I've been so quiet on the blogging front, I haven't had much to write about to be perfectly honest. It's always a slow time of the year in terms of auditions and meetings and also, it turns out temp work!

So I've been at home, slowly turning into a 1950's housewife, doing the housework, errands, knitting, baking and making The Big One dinners for his return home after a long day's work.  It has been nice at times but as the weeks continued and every morning I had nothing but my sense of self discipline to get me out of bed and dressed everyday it started to wear down on my self esteem.

I've always been a hustler, a grafter and to suddenly have no choice and be unable to earn any dosh coupled with a brassic financial situation did not mkae for fun times. In fact it made me overthink things, allowed my anxiety to grow and generally makes for bad times.

You may remember I shot an ad at the end of the year and had hoped to be paid at the start of this year, dispelling any immediate financial woes should I not have alot on, well....still waiting for that dosh, any day now!

Anyway, things are looking up -I have been temping this week making me have to get up dressed, socialise and use my brain! My Angry Stitch etsy is set up and I have been busy with 3 commissions! I had my new short hair headshots done and both my agent and I are very happy and excited about unleashing the new me. Plus, The Big One and I are off on a long overdue holiday on Tuesday, we're going to Goa!

We are so excited and I can almost feel the sun on my face, the sea water lapping at my feet. We're going for 10 days of pure bliss. Swimming, eating, reading, RE-laxing!

Amaze-balls!

I haven't felt the sun since last year when I headed to Sydney to surprise Rich for his 30th. Gosh that feels so long ago now, it's his birthday in 2 days...hope you have a bundle of fun Rich!

I look forward to posting and making you all feel enormously sickenly jealous with our 'oliday pics!
