Obsessed: The Rachel Zoe Project

The Big One has had to jet off to Toronto for a very exciting looking new music shoot and so I have been left in full control of the remote - no admonishing looks, no tutting at my sometimes dubious choices, which is perfect as I have quickly developed a new dirty tv addiction.

The Rachel Zoe Project! So much fashion I literally drool through every episode! I appreciate I'm a little slow on the uptake but I don't think it was ever screened here in the UK - I've found it on Netflix, three seasons worth...amazings! So far I have devoured Season 1 and am fascinated with Taylor, rather in love with Brad and full of envy for Rachel Zoe's wardrobe!

I love that you get to see the whole process of styling the best dressed, the programme takes you entirely behind the scenes to see the designers and their new collections before they have walked. I have found it amazing how little the actresses themselves seem to be involved, you realise they are essentially clothes horses at red carpet events. It makes you wonder about how often the stars themselves get lauded for their sartorial choices when it appears they have little to nothing to do with what they strut down the carpet.

Season 2 is next and I cannot wait to see more more more!

Red's Christmas Knit

I saw my sister Red and her boyf Berlin yesterday for a very short lunch, the only time will we see each other this Christmas so we exchanged gifts and now I can finally show you what I made for her..

It's a turban style headband to warm the ears with a bow to dazzle. She seemed to love it and certainly wore it well, which I knew she would. When I started it she dyed her hair from pink to blue and I was concerned I'd make my trendy sister look like a Blue Lagoon cocktail but luckily she soon changed to brunette so it works well!

She and Berlin gave me a lovely canvas bag with this perfect print on it -

Along with a mix CD for The Big One and I called The Sounds of Berlin and a lovely print from a Berlin photographer. All the presents were so lovely but my favourite was getting to see her for even just a lickle bit.

I will next see her in Berlin when we go to visit, which we hope will be sooner rather than later!

Gone Tomorrow...well Thursday!

My hair appointment is booked for Thursday morning, my long hair's days are numbered!

I'm yet to decide exactly which style I'm going for but my length is getting chopped off in a ponytail and will be sent off to The Little Princess Trust, a fabulous charity that provides real hair wigs for children going through cancer treatment. As soon as I found them my decision was made. They explain that in some cases, young teenage girls refuse their treatment for fear of losing their hair and being teased. So that was that, decision made - If I am not in love with my long hair I need to give it to someone who is risking their life for hair.

I will be donating approximately 12 inches!!

Here are some more possible new do's, let me know what you think!

I personally really like the idea of a very short crop with a full forward fringe, like the 3rd image. My hairdresser will help me work out what's best for my face shape and HawkandFallow is kindly coming along to help me face the chop. I'm going to ask her to film it so I can share it with you guys.

Exciting!!!

Bambi Done Good!

You may remember I wrote about a boutique label called Bambi & Manson, they customise cut-offs and can perform transformative magic on denim.  Well, look what I saw in this month's Cosmopolitan.... TWO features!!

The multi dyed Cutoffs are called Zebra on Acid

Featuring the Aztecs cut offs

Bambi & Manson other then being a multi talented tour de force is also my sister Red and her boyfriend Berlin, so you see I'm very proud!

Hair Today...

I have long hair, I have always had long hair, long as in halfway down my back. Both my sister and I had long hair growing up, my mum was made to cut hers short all the time when she was a child so she left ours long. Being one of the only girls at school with very long hair meant that each lunchtime other girls would cue up to practise plaiting my hair or trying out any kind of new hairstyle. I used to love it, it was so relaxing just sitting there having my hair played with.

Then I got older and somehow it never occurred to me to change my hair, when you have long hair and you suggest cutting it you hear a cacophony of 'no - you have such lovely long hair, how could you cut it". Then I went to drama school and was told long hair made me perfect for period and classical casting. They use wigs in most period tellies I've done - saves time curling and pinning all my hair.

Ah my hair, 'me coiffe', my barnet. It has over time become a confidence booster and a comfort blanket for me, flicking it, twiddling it, hiding behind it. Well I'm 29 now and I really feel it is finally time for a change, a radical change. I am not a fan of in-between hairstyles, so no shoulder length bob for me....I had wanted to get a small shaved undercut section but my agent strongly veteod this last night when I brought it up. He has however conceded to a short do, it will change my casting but I think in a good way plus I can always grow it or get extensions if necessary.

It's only hair right!?

So I have started trawling the worldwide web for some inspiration before I go and have a consultation with my hairdresser...what do you think?

Tell you what though, The Big One ain't gonna like it, he lurves my long hair.

My Birthday Treats!

I know it was aaages ago, (in fact it's The Big One's Birthday next week) but rather late then never when it comes to sharing new pur-chases.

You may remember one of my (many) lovely birthday pressies from The Big One was a shopping spree in Belfast. He said it was a 'Brewster's Millions' situation and I had to spend all the dosh that day on myself. I know -  Best Boyfriend Award Nomination.

So here's what I gots!

Quite a swag eh!?

I have worn eveything at least once and I am still de-lighted with each and every item...cos they make me feel like a princess, a much treated princess.  Lets hope I can make him feel similarly spoilt next weekend!!

The Obsession is [Baby} Growing

The other night I was at the playwright's house to join his family for a BBQ. It was there that my distant comfy-fantasy of hanging out in an adult sized onesie began to take a realistic shape. His grandchild has a fleece one piece that she goes to bed in (she's 4) but then his 14 year old son appeared to model his adult sized (he's 6'2") onesie and they both looked so smugly comfy.

I had been watching Dirty Sexy Things and admiring the Fair Isle style one pieces each of the models seemed to have and today,  I found them.

I want one.

They come in all different colours and cost £130 - eek! But don't they look sooo cosy!

As a cheaper alternative there's always the American Apparel romper £35 but they're just not the same...

Marc, Marni and BCBG Max Azria are taking me away...

The resort collections are always some of my favourite collections of the year. I love imagining where I would be wearing them, some of the collections not only call for a bottomless purse to purchase but also some serious plastic to wear them on the appropriate cruises, private island getaways etc.

Here were some of my favourite looks...what holiday destinations do you think they'd suit?
