For Red

My sister, blog-name - Red, moved to Berlin about 2 months ago now to be with her lovely boyfriend, (awkwardly) blog-named - Berlin and to have an adventure.

She has been back once for a few very busy, jam packed days and it was only then, getting some snatched moments with her that I realised quite how much I have missed her. We used to talk almost every day and knew every minute detail in each others lives. Now I can't call her and we very, very rarely get to have a proper Skype convo.

I'm delighted she grabbed the opportunity and is having a ball of a time over there I just wish I didn't feel so out of the loop with each other. The Big One and I are hoping to go and visit soon but it is taking some getting used to.

We weren't particularly close when growing up, we had almost polar opposite personalities, we didn't directly clash but we weren't really in each other's worlds. We cope with things in very different ways.

As we developed our own lives outside of our childhood home we got closer, bonded by our shared childhood and celebrated our differences rather then be isolated by them. Over the years we became a great support to each other and found we developed an incredibly close friendship that I have always treasured. When she finally moved to London I was delighted. We maintained our separate social lives and tastes but shared the details, we knew each other's friends but made time for just us, to hang out and do our thing together.

Her boyfriend, Berlin, is so lovely, one of the nicest people to ever come into her life and their relationship is a joy to witness. They are best chums, playmates and very much in love with each other. He not only supports her creativity but takes part and contributes to it too. They both now run an ever increasingly successful design label and I am delighted for her in every way.

When the opportunity came up to relocate to Berlin and share a new adventure together I was all for it and still am. I just miss her.

That's all.

Here's to you LilSm, I could not be prouder to be your BigSm xxxxxxx

Vocal Treasure

The Big One found this for me the other day, isn't it amaze-balls!

Skillz.

Excuses, Excuses!

Where has the time gone!? 3 weeks since my last post!! Have you missed me? - Of course you have!!

Well the show has finished, it all went very well and I've made several good-time chums during the whole experience, all of which I hope to work with again one day.

So now I'm back on the auditioning/temping circuit til my next job. I've a telly coming up (Christmas Day TV!) so that takes the pressure off - if you're not working then at least you're being seen!

I have been knitting like a complete maniac! My lovely friend, Lady of the Sea, turned the big 30 and I wanted to knit her something special to celebrate. My pics aren't great as they were taken in a rush to get it sent off to her but it was a large comfy (New Wool/Alpaca/Silk mix) circular scarf that can be wrapped twice, worn as a hood and scarf....you get the idea! She was DeLiGhTed with it so that was fabs-a-lot!

I've also been knitting a small collection of, deep breath, 'colour block - bobble - beanie hats' that I'm going to try and sell through some online markets. And I've been cross stitching some classic hollywood pieces to hopefully sell through cafes and boutiques...I shall keep you posted!

I'm back on the temping circuit now having lost my ongoing temp job due to being too darn busy as an actor. I am really enjoying it, I've been in various creative companies over the last 2-3 weeks mainly covering reception. It's kept me busy, kept my brain learning new things and I've been meeting new people in very different environments then those I've been used to. Also you get to dress up, wear pretty heels and paint your nails for each assignment! Which is an utter girly joy having been in rehearsal clothes for months!

The Big One and I are off to a cosy eco cottage in Cornwall tomorrow to snuggle in and chill out. Walks on the beach, pub lunches, cream teas, lots of reading, knitting and cooking for each other - LuSh!! We'll be back on Friday evening and I intend to have lots of great pics to share with you all.

Now, enough about me! What have you been up to???

Six Left...

Well I'm here, in the last week of the show. Feels so bizarre yet what an incredible experience I've had with this play. I have got to play 12 venues with this show in 2 different productions. And I LOVE my character and will really miss her!

This week is pretty crazy social with lots of people coming to catch the show in it's last week -  today over 2 shows I have 7 people in.

So what is next? I don't know! At all! I am waiting on a couple of auditions but it's all up in the air...this job is so unpredicatable...I've been so lucky to have had 3 jobs in a row so now...?

Watch this space...with me!

The Big One + Birthday + Toys

It was The Big One's birthday on Sunday so we went out for fun and games...literally.

The weather was gorgeous so after a delicious breakfast we walked to the Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green before heading to a posh cinema then a fabulous Mexican meal...

Inside the various glass boxes in the museum were some rather familiar objects of fun!

Lots of crafty toys!

Then there was the best selling 'Dress Shirley Temple' - oh how things have changed eh?

Red and I had this dolls house growing up - felt very odd to see it as a museum exhibit!

Drink Shop Do....Love!

Last week between an audition and a photo shoot session I had an hour to kill in Kings Cross, which I was DeLigHtEd about as I got to finally check out the new crafty/chic/yummy cafe Drink Shop Do and it did not disappoint!

I'm so sorry I was too shy to take pictures but I will be back and I'll be braver to capture the craft art on the walls, the huge selection of teas, the delicious looking cakes, the cute and vintage china. Til then, I shall use some of Drink Shop Do pics from their website.

The concept behind the venue is that everything is available to purchase, from the furniture to the plates to the art on the wall. They offer a yummy menu of treats, afternoon teas and salads. Plus they host crafty sessions, teach you how to make rosettes, garters, knit...you name it they got it covered!

So I settled in to take in everything and ordered meself a luverly lunch....

It was as scrummy as it looked.
