Red Letter Day!

Firstly - this is my first post from my new flat! We went online today - whoop whoop!

Secondly and maybe more importantly, something very exciting came in the post today....

A £5 voucher for Liberty's!!! Which meant that I would have to spend £10 to get my necklace - but this is forbidden as I haven't fulfilled my promise

Cue The Big One - who then gave me that elusive tenner!

I can now purchase the gorgeous Alexis Bittar necklace without breaking my faithful promise of adding to my overloaded rails before wearing everything on there at least once.

I will continue with my mission but now I'll be a little better (and cheekily) adorned.

P.S I've almost certainly decided on Silver...Whoop Whoop!

A Bunch of Beauties!

My lovely lovely sister PinkChilliPop sent me the biggest, most beautiful bouquet of flowers yesterday with a message to keep my chin up and think postively before I headed to the hospital.

They filled two vases!

Aren't they stunning!

Welcome to the World!

I have so many new little people to knit for!

It's the season for bumps and babies it seems.

Hello Minnie and Rose! Hello Baby Leo!

Welcome to the world! I'll 'roar' it to you Leo so you can hear me where you are on the other side of this big new world!

I can't wait to meet you all.  You're going to be amazing people cos your parents are pretty amazing  themselves!

I've been stock piling the patterns and wool.....you'll soon know who I am!

Congratulations P&D and L&D!!

A Very Good Day Indeed!

Yesterday was gorgeous. Two of my friends welcomed their beautiful new son into the world. The sky was blue and the sun was shining.

But the day didn't become technicolour for me until the afternoon.  2 months ago I was referred to a dermatologist who removed 2 moles from my stomach. I had to wait until yesterday to get the results and find out whether;

 a) They wanted to operate again
b) I had Skin Cancer

Luckily it turned out that the answer to both those questions was NO! Hooray Henry!

"No" and "No Malignancy" were pretty much all I heard to be honest I was so tense and anxious. When the doctor first said it, I couldn't take it in so just burst out with "That means no skin cancer right?" As soon as he confirmed I was in the clear, me and The Big One just started laughing and grinning like idiots!

As soon as we walked out of the room (after lots of hearty handshakes and thank you's) I burst into tears, I was so relieved! I had tried so hard not to dwell on it over the 2 months but as the results date approached I had been dreaming about it every night.

We skipped back to the station!

I hope I can hold onto the full experience (referrals, surgery and stitches are not fun) to help me learn the  lesson - I will stay in the shade, wear the right sun factor and cover up. I hope you will too - trust me the tan is not worth it, especially when you can get a nicer one out of a bottle!

Never Again!

So last weekend me and The Big One moved flat.

That sentence looks so neat and simple but the actual process could not have been more long winded, stressful or awkward!

We hired a van through a friend which turned out to be considerably smaller then we had expected, this combined with the limited amount of time we had to pack and unpack it (before it had to go home) meant that 3 trips later, almost all the furniture had gone but not much else!
Cue frantic phone calls to friends with cars and 2 trips later we thought we had almost everything.....
The next day we went back to the old flat to thoroughly clean it, defrost the freezer and hoover, we still had what turned out to be another 4 car loads of stuff!

How is it that I was convinced that we had very little?  I actually borrowed 7 boxes off a friend thinking that would be more then enough. It really wasn't! We had to spend £40 on boxes - cardboard boxes! And here I am going cold turkey on shopping to spend £40 on cardboard! Before you point out that my shopping may have contributed to the multiple box situation I will leap in and tell you that my shoes took up 1 box, a large box I admit, but that was it! My clothes stayed on their hangers on their rails.

Anyway Friday we started and by Monday we had everything.....bar the phone as the line isn't moving over til next week.....

It is incredibly unfair of me to wait til this point in the post to mention that we had the best voluntary crew of movers. 8 complete superstars of friends came and gave up their time, muscles and petrol to help us and we couldn't have done it without them.

Thank you lovely friends -  a thank you BBQ is in the planning.....just as soon as we unpack!

Just Say No!

I promise that I am not that catty type of person who looks people up and down when they meet some one new, I don't give people a fake smile which fades the instant you stop looking at me. I don't whisper or giggle about people to distract from my insecurity and I don't judge people's choice of clothing......most of the time.....

Come on lady! There's just no need!

I apologise for any offence caused by either my post or these rainbow dipped flares.
